This morning I recalled Kate and the testimony of healing she gave about being led to the healing rooms at Bethel in Redding. It was her last resort, as the doctors could not help, and the prescriptions didn't work. I was also reminded of the day in February 2009 when I sat in an examination room to await the next series of diagnostic procedures to find a solution to my physical ailments.
When we first give our lives to Christ we are just as green as just picked and dried coffee beans; covered with a hull that must be removed. It is our sin, brokenness, and ego that require processing to extract.
Here at the home of a dead man Jesus is consoling Martha and asking one question, do you believe? With her statement and heartfelt acceptance Jesus could now proceed to do something impossible...make the dead un-dead.
