Fishing for People

F

And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men”. Matthew 4:19

God brought us rescue.   He has lavished His salvation upon us.
So now what?  What to do about this light that burns within us?

We ARE to do more than sit cozily on our hands Sunday mornings, condemning the world and withdrawing from it.  If we are NOT to elevate ourselves as ‘better’ than ‘them’ or go standing on a soapbox telling others to turn from sin when we have sin in our own hearts… then what?

you shall be a fisher of men

Jesus tells us to get over ourselves.

We have a mandate to become love.  It is that very love which brings about the change of heart and allows us to be there when the rescue is to be delivered.  This life in Christ is very real and it is to be virally potent.   Our story is God’s story, being written every day for His purpose and joy.  We are to share it GENEROUSLY.
What to do?  Be love, be His hands of rescue.  Now get on with it!

I have a recent quote from David Crowder which I am pleased to have stumbled upon; as it mirrors my own heart in every way:

“The story is not about making bad people good, it is about making dead people alive”
