I remember finding a grasshopper, picking it up, then placing it onto the live wire of an electric fence. Thinking for sure it would come alive again....
The sword is a choice to turn from what was and seek all that is Christ, or to push Him away and face the consequences. That is the dividing line. Each person and every generation has to make their decision on their own. Are you a barrier to their salvation?
This morning I recalled Kate and the testimony of healing she gave about being led to the healing rooms at Bethel in Redding. It was her last resort, as the doctors could not help, and the prescriptions didn't work. I was also reminded of the day in February 2009 when I sat in an examination room to await the next series of diagnostic procedures to find a solution to my physical ailments.
It's great how we find commonality and ways to connect with a wider population who are like-minded. It feels good to fit "in". So, we go all in. But do we have the same connection with the the body of Christ? The same pride of ownership?
There are some gifts that once received, perpetually bless the heart. When we are connected through Christ, we can glean from one another new ways of seeking His face.
Do we really measure our WORTH by what we do, the things we have, how others perceive us, or what we amount to financially? Is that all there is to life? Or are we worth loving as we are - without any ‘thing’?
